The new production hall of the textile factory “Jeanci” in Krupanj was opened today at the location of the old “Krupanjka” factory. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić, Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay and the director of the jeans factory “Jeanci” Taner Buyukcan were present at the opening ceremony.
The production in Krupanj commenced with 100 employees, and the director of “Jeanci” Taner Buyukcan said that he expects another 100 employees to be hired in the next six months.
“Jeanci” company rented one of the production halls of the “Krupanjka” textile factory, which employed 1100 workers twenty years ago, and stopped production in 2009 when it went bankrupt.
After touring the factory and talking with workers, Vučić said that apart from houses and roads, new jobs are most needed in the municipality of Krupanj. Vučić said that the state has covered the costs of adaptation work on the facility, which was hit by last year’s floods. The facility was given to the Turkish investor for a token RSD 1 under a long-term lease agreement. Vučić told Buyukcan that he expects the realization of the announcement that another production hall will be opened soon in Vladičin Han, opening 300 new workplaces.
Vučić thanked Deputy Prime Minister Ljajić for the enormous energy and effort which he invested in bringing the investors and opening the production facility.
The Turkish company “Jeanci” employs 600 workers in its textile factory in Leskovac.
