“Digital transformation of culture is necessary for a long-lasting preservation of digitalised cultural heritage and contemporary art, provision of permanent and reliable access to the cultural heritage, but also for a successful promotion of our culture in the global environment”, says State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić.
In the introductory speech at the conference “Culture and IT”, held in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Information, Ms Matić has reminded that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications has supported the project of networking 19 key institutions of culture into the Serbian Academic Network.
She has said that the Ministry is planning also other projects of digitalisation of cultural institutions, including the equipment of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts for building the digital capacities of that institution.
“The objective is a continuous investment in the information and communication infrastructure of cultural institutions, in order to ensure their smooth operations, creation of new services for the audience, more adequate access for younger generations. The systemic upgrading will ensure a higher safety and protection of data, and protection from unwanted contents and system attacks”, State Secretary has concluded.
