Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić has said today that all leading travel destinations in Serbia have recorded a great number of visitors during the holiday in May, which is a clear indicator that this year will be the record year in terms of tourism.
“Vrnjačka Banja has recorded the largest number of guests in the past 30 years when it comes to the holiday in May, while Zlatibor hosted at least 15.000 tourists I various types of accommodation and the same number of tourist has visited that mountain during daytime”, Mr Ljajić has said.
He has also added that the accommodation capacities in Palić are 90% full, while the Avala Tower was visited by more than 6000 people within three days, most in the previous five days. A large number of visitors went to the Silver Lake and other travel destinations in Serbia.
Minister has stated that the number of tourists in Serbia in the first three months of 2017 was higher by six per cent compared to the same period last year, and the number of foreign guests is higher by 10 per cent.
“Since the results are much better than last year, which was also excellent, we expect that the year 2017 will be the record year in terms of tourism and that again we will have an increase of the inflow of foreign currency”, Mr Ljajić concluded.
