Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić has stated today that Serbian Government makes best efforts to ensure a fair market competition for the VIP and other two mobile operators.
In the light of the license renewal for mobile services of the VIP Mobile company, he has stressed that Serbia makes a continuous improvement when it comes to promotion of the business environment in order to make the atmosphere convenient for the investors.
According to his words, Serbia is strongly committed to the promotion of telecommunication infrastructure, which will ensure further development of digital economy.
“We plan to strengthen the state telecommunication network and resources in the country, which are distributed in a number of institutions. It is a huge project we expect to end by 2020”, Mr Ljajić has said.
Minister has also said that the law on electronic communication is being developed, which will contribute to the predictability of the business environment, and the partners in that business as he states, are the three mobile operators.
The VIP Mobile company has renewed its license today for mobile services in Serbia to additional 10 years and has stated that so far it has invested 934 million euros in Serbia.
