Assistant Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Vesna Novaković stated that consumers today know their rights and are using the benefits not only of online shopping, but all possibilities provided by e-business and e-commerce.
“The significance of this issue is indicated by the number of entrepreneurs, increasing every year. E-commerce is not a thing of the future, but of today, and we must be aware of this if we wish to be competitive in the local or international markets”, said Novaković at the opening of the XVI International Conference on e-Commerce and e-Business in Palić.
She noted that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is once again, as in previous years, providing support to the organization of this event, attended by numerous domestic and regional companies, businesspeople and IT experts in the field of e-business and e-commerce.
Novaković added that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, along with the Ministry of Economy, is implementing the e-Business Development project, financed by the European Union.
The project is aiming to bring the concept of e-commerce and digital applications usable for improving business closer to small and medium-sized enterprises.
A web platform was developed as part of the project activities, intended for e-consumers (www.e-dukator.rs) aimed towards the education and information of citizens of Serbia regarding their rights in online shopping.
The e-Commerce conference is held on 20-22 April 2016, and is traditionally located in Palić.
