The foreign currency inflow from tourism this year achieved an increase of nearly nine percent, representing a good result, said Assistant Minister of Trade and Tourism Renata Pindžo today.

“Tourism achieved good results this year, and for the first time we note an increase in domestic tourist flow during the current year, since the increase in foreign tourist flow has become a tradition that will, I believe, continue during the coming and subsequent years”, said Pindžo at the Tourist Organization of Serbia.

She reminded that certain important novelties were introduced this year, among others amendments to the Law on Tourism, the distribution of tourist vouchers that, as she said, produced more than satisfactory results.

She said that the distribution of vouchers to citizens will continue next year as well, and that funds have been earmarked to the amount of 640 million dinars to implement infrastructural projects.

Acting Director of the National Tourism Organization of Serbia Marija Labović said that the goal is to enable the tourism industry to resist all challenges during the coming years.

She also said that the promotion of Serbia as a tourist destination will continue during next year.
