Vouchers for subsidized holidays in Serbia will be distributed next year as well

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić said that the initiative of distributing vouchers for subsidized holidays in Serbia has given positive results and that it will be continued next year.

He said that next year the project will run from January 1 until December 31, 2016, and that about 50,000 vouchers are planned to be distributed during that period.

“We will continue the vouchers project starting January 1, 2016, we will make certain amendments to the procedure, making it faster and simpler so that as many people as possible can apply,” said Ljajić at the ceremony for the “Tourism Flower” Award.

He recalled that during the first seven months of 2015, an increase of 12.7% was marked in the number of domestic tourists, and that so far 13,000 vouchers have been distributed and 65,000 overnight stays have been realized.

Ljajić said that initiative has revived certain tourist destinations such as the spas “Prolom banja”, “Vrnjačka banja”, “Lukovska banja”, and “Sokobanja” as well as Kopaonik.
