Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić opened today in Novi Pazar the textile factory “Moda Campania”, which plans to employ a total of 330 people by early 2017.
Ljajić explained that the initial investment in the Novi Pazar factory amounts to EUR 750,000, and an additional EUR 2.7 million is expected to be invested by the end of 2018, so the total investment will amount to EUR 3.5 million.
The newly-opened production facility of the Italian textile company “Moda Campania” intends to export all of its products to Italy, Slovenia and Hungary, and is currently negotiating export deals in Germany and Russia.
So far the company has exported 11,000 pieces of clothing and is preparing an additional 5,500 pieces.
Ljajić noted that Italy is Serbia’s number one foreign trade partner, recalling that the trade exchange between the two countries last year amounted to EUR 3.6 million, and that 600 Italian companies are currently operating in Serbia, employing 25,000 people.
“Moda Campania” owner Angelo Ammirati said that Novi Pazar has strong capacities and high-quality workforce which is why Novi Pazar was recognized as a place which can offer the quality that Europe demands in the fashion world, and where the competition is strong, stressed Ammirati.
