Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić met today with the delegation of the Russian retail chain “Diksi”, headed by the Vice President of Logistics and International Cooperation Marat Magkejev.
On that occasion, the representatives of the third largest retail chain in Russia, which has more than two thousand retail outlets across the country, expressed interest in increasing the import of fruits and vegetables from Serbia.
“Diksi” has so far been importing small quantities of goods from Serbia, but after Russia imposed sanctions on the import of food products from the EU, the company is interested in increasing the import of fruit and vegetables from Serbia, but also extending the range of Serbian goods in their facilities to canned fruits and vegetables.
The representatives of the retail chain “Diksi” will hold meetings today with the largest producers and exporters of fruits and vegetables in Serbia. The signing of the first contracts with Serbian partners is expected after the meetings and the first delivery of goods to Russia to expected to start next week.
