State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Dr. Lukrecija Đeri took part in the meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization, held in the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela.

In a speech to the members of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization, Lukrecija Đeri said that the main objective of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is to improve the quality of the tourism offer in Serbia, which should contribute to an increase in foreign exchange earnings from tourism from the current 800 million to 1.3 billion per year.

She added that the Government will encourage the development of the private sector as well as public-private partnerships in the field of tourism and the development of tourism clusters.

“In addition to improving regional cooperation, one of the goals of this mandate is the establishment of a national council for tourism,” said Đeri.
