A public debate on the\u00a0draft of the Law was conducted from September 27\u00a0to\u00a0October 27 of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif;\">A large number of NGOs and consumer organizations as well as the professional public and the private sector participated in the debate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif;\">The new Law on Consumer Protection will be fully in accordance with the directives and best practice of the European Union and will contribute to strengthening the consumer movement and\u00a0to\u00a0more participation by associations in defining and implementing the policies of consumer protection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif;\">The Law will be\u00a0the basis for\u00a0the\u00a0implementation of the Strategy for\u00a0Consumer Protection\u00a0for the period until 2018, and it provides for\u00a0strengthening\u00a0of consumer rights, as well as\u00a0the\u00a0improvement of mechanisms for\u00a0out of court\u00a0disputesettlement<a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a>\u00a0in that field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif;\">The Ministry\u00a0of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications\u00a0will forward the draft to the Government of the Republic of Serbia which should adopt it by the end of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Council for Consumer Protection adopted today,\u00a0on a regular meeting,\u00a0the final version of the draft of the new Law on Consumer Protection.
