The value of the domestic market is 70.6 billion dollars, with an expected growth\u00a0of\u00a050\u00a0percent,\u00a0so it\u00a0is estimated\u00a0that itsvalue\u00a0in 2016\u00a0will\u00a0amount to 105 billion\u00a0dollars,\u00a0said todaythe Minister\u00a0of Foreign and Internal\u00a0Trade and Telecommunications\u00a0Rasim\u00a0Ljaji\u0107.<\/p>\n

At\u00a0the\u00a0conference on\u00a0fast-moving\u00a0consumer goods\u00a0“FMCGsector\u00a0by 2020”,\u00a0Ljaji\u0107\u00a0said\u00a0that this market\u00a0is without competition in the region,\u00a0taking into\u00a0account the size of\u00a0the market,\u00a0the\u00a0initial\u00a0price\u00a0basis, which\u00a0is low,\u00a0which\u00a0makesSerbia\u00a0a potential market\u00a0for foreign\u00a0investment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trade\u00a0is\u00a0the fastest growing\u00a0of\u00a0all\u00a0the economic\u00a0sectors,especially\u00a0in\u00a0the last\u00a0twenty\u00a0years\u00a0and\u00a0it\u00a0covers\u00a0all market participants.\u00a0From\u00a0trade\u00a0based\u00a0on small\u00a0stores,\u00a0it\u00a0transformed into the\u00a0form of\u00a0retail\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0large chains\u00a0stores,supermarkets\u00a0and\u00a0hypermarkets, said\u00a0Ljaji\u0107.<\/span><\/p>\n

The changes,\u00a0he added,\u00a0are evident\u00a0in the sector ofmanufacturers\u00a0supplying\u00a0retail\u00a0stores\u00a0and\u00a0consumers who\u00a0are increasingly\u00a0opting\u00a0to buy goods\u00a0in one place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ljaji\u0107\u00a0said that these changes are inevitable, but\u00a0that they have\u00a0not affected\u00a0this region\u00a0on a large scale. He said that the participation of small businesses in the Serbian market\u00a0in2003 was 72\u00a0percent, and 53\u00a0percent\u00a0in\u00a02011. In Romania, this ratio varied\u00a0from\u00a053\u00a0percent\u00a0to\u00a0percent,\u00a0in Poland\u00a0from 41 to\u00a019 percent,\u00a0and\u00a0in Croatia\u00a0from\u00a041\u00a0to\u00a028 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When\u00a0it comes to the\u00a0concentration of\u00a0the ten\u00a0largestretailers,\u00a0the participation was\u00a018\u00a0percent\u00a0in\u00a02003 and 40percent\u00a0in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ljaji\u0107\u00a0said\u00a0that the economic crisis\u00a0is\u00a0slowing\u00a0this\u00a0processdown,\u00a0but\u00a0there is an evident\u00a0drop\u00a0of 8.3\u00a0percent\u00a0in retail sales\u00a0in Serbia.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a plan to work\u00a0on\u00a0<\/a>legislation\u00a0directed towards\u00a0trade liberalization,\u00a0because\u00a0it is\u00a0necessary to\u00a0create a\u00a0suitablebusiness environment\u00a0for foreign\u00a0investors and\u00a0retail chains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today’s\u00a0regional conference on\u00a0fast-moving\u00a0consumer goods”FMCG\u00a0sector\u00a0by 2020″,\u00a0organized by\u00a0the\u00a0BIZLife\u00a0mediacompany,\u00a0brought together representatives\u00a0of relevant statebodies and institutions\u00a0in the region,\u00a0representatives of theFMCG\u00a0sector:\u00a0manufacturers, distributors\u00a0and retailers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The term\u00a0FMCG\u00a0includes\u00a0products that are\u00a0sold\u00a0quickly\u00a0at relatively\u00a0low\u00a0prices, and\u00a0consists\u00a0mainly of\u00a0food,\u00a0beveragesand\u00a0household chemicals.\u00a0The profit\u00a0from\u00a0these products\u00a0isrelatively\u00a0small,\u00a0with\u00a0a small\u00a0trade\u00a0margin,\u00a0but\u00a0they\u00a0are soldin large\u00a0quantities.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
