{"id":21499,"date":"2016-04-18T14:27:31","date_gmt":"2016-04-18T12:27:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mtt.gov.rs\/?p=21499"},"modified":"2016-04-26T16:01:43","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T14:01:43","slug":"it-caravan-through-15-towns-in-serbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.mtt.gov.rs\/en\/releases-and-announcements\/it-caravan-through-15-towns-in-serbia\/","title":{"rendered":"IT Caravan through 15 Towns in Serbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljaji\u0107 announced today at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the software company Microsoft Serbia and Montenegro that on Wednesday, 20 April, the \u201cIT Caravan\u201d will begin, aimed at promoting new technologies and the internet in education, business and communication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to show the risks of improper use of new technologies\u201d, said Ljaji\u0107.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/mtt.gov.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Uvesti5.jpg\" alt=\"IT Caravan through 15 Towns in Serbia\" title=\"IT Caravan through 15 Towns in Serbia\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arhiva.mtt.gov.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Uvesti5.jpg 600w, https:\/\/arhiva.mtt.gov.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Uvesti5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arhiva.mtt.gov.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Uvesti5-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is particularly in regards to children, noted the Minister, and stated that we are witness to increasing use of new technologies among children, while parents frequently remain uninformed, and teachers insufficiently digitally literate, leading to improper use and abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Ljaji\u0107 explained that the \u201cIT Caravan\u201d will last until 3 June, planning to achieve direct contact with approximately 5,000 children aged ten to 19 years, as well as indirect contact with a significant number of citizens, in primary schools across 15 towns in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe campaign will be continued next year, our goal is to visit as many towns as possible, and make contact with as many schools as possible\u201d, said Ljaji\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>Noting the fact that Microsoft is the main partner in the project, Ljaji\u0107 recalled that the American software giant opened its first office in Serbia in 2002, and its development centre in 2005, the company\u2019s fourth centre in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first significant project with the company is the networking of all primary and secondary schools in Serbia and the introduction of wireless internet in those schools\u201d, said Ljaji\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>The General Director of Microsoft Serbia and Montenegro \u017deljko Vujinovi\u0107, on signing the Memorandum with Deputy Prime Minister Ljaji\u0107, said this is the right way of promoting modern technologies and the use of internet in education.<br \/>\n\u201cThis will help improve the quality of life in Serbia, increase the number of experts, but also, on the other hand, have other companies follow Microsoft\u2019s example and open development centres in Serbia\u201d, said Vujinovi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that Microsoft believes new technologies should be accessible to all, and this company is endeavouring to provide for this with an array of free tools, such as the Office 365 education package, services fully adapted to the needs of students and teachers, the BubbleBee service for learning and practicing programming, support for professors in teaching, or initiatives and programmes such as Microsoft Innovative Educator, Showcase School and Student Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>The signing of the memorandum at the Palace of Serbia was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the United States to Serbia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljaji\u0107 announced today at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the software company Microsoft Serbia and Montenegro that on &hellip;
